Flood & Ethics CE Requirements
Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware each require unique continuing education (CE) and training requirements. While this page clarifies Flood and Ethics requirements, you can click here to review complete CE requirements.
State-Specific Requirements
Pennsylvania:
- A Flood requirement (2 hours) each licensing period for all resident producers with Property, Casualty, or Personal lines of authority.
- An Ethics requirement (3 hours) each licensing period for all resident producers and for resident and non-resident Title agents.
Maryland:
- Effective Oct. 1, 2023, P&C licensees who sell Flood, Homeowners', or Commercial Property Insurance must complete at least two (2) CE credits in Flood insurance every licensing period.
- All producers (including Title producers) must complete three (3) hours of Ethics credit each licensing period.
Delaware:
- Any resident licensee who writes flood insurance under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) must complete a two (2) hour continuing education course related to flood insurance and the NFIP.
- Of the 24 general credit hours required, three (3) must be in ethics -- biennially by Feb. 28 of every even year.
Note: The timing of the courses within your licensing period is important. Be sure to check your CE status, particularly for these special CE categories, at Sircon.com for Pennsylvania and Maryland. For Delaware, visit statebasedsystems.com.
