Consider a career in insurance. The insurance industry offers more than a job – it offers a profession. Independent insurance agencies help individuals, families, and businesses protect what matters most. Plus, the demand for new talent has never been greater. Insurance agencies are actively seeking motivated individuals with strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a desire to help others.
Get started today by registering for the Insuring Careers Certification Program (ICCP). There’s no program like it.
ICCP teaches you the foundation and basic tools to enter this dynamic and growing industry.
ICCP is designed for those new to the industry, breaking down the complex world of insurance into manageable segments. The curriculum covers insurance basics but also hones your business soft skills. You’ll learn key terms and definitions, best practices, insurance topics, different types of insurance, and how an insurance policy is written.
ICCP focuses on developing professionals who focus on property and casualty insurance, also known as P&C insurance. P&C insurance includes insurance like auto, homeowners, business, cyber liability, etc. This program is for people who want to work in the insurance industry in PA, MD, and DE.

How Does the Certification Program Work?
-
Online and flexible – learn on your schedule.
-
Six months or less – finish sooner if desired.
-
Expert support – guidance from IA&B's education team.
-
Career-focused training – practical, industry-relevant preparation.
ICCP Is Developed by a Leader in Insurance Education
ICCP is develop by the Insurance Agents & Brokers (IA&B) – the premier resource and champion for independent insurance agencies across PA, MD, and DE. These agencies are actively seeking motivated individuals with strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a desire to help others. To meet this need, IA&B created ICCP. IA&B has received awards for providing exceptional education in the field of insurance.
The program first introduces you to what insurance is, the different types of insurance, the different parties involved in the insurance agreements, and the vocabulary essential to understanding insurance.
Using the new information and vocabulary taught in the first stage of ICCP, you will begin preparing for the state property & casualty licensing exam. The exam prep will help you feel confident and ready to pass the test and become an agent. Anyone who “sells, solicits or negotiates contracts of insurance” needs to become licensed.
After passing the state licensing exam, you’ll dig deeper into the technical side of insurance by learning the different policies, practicing application in real life scenarios and building the business and communication skills needed to be successful.
Earning an Insuring Careers Certification is a great accomplishment! If you are searching for a job after completing the program, IA&B will help connect you to hiring independent agencies.

ICCP was developed and designed by experts in property & casualty insurance, and instructional designers who know adult learning styles.

- You need to pass a background check
- Fingerprinting (PA, MD, DE require fingerprinting)
There are over 50 hours of module content. Additionally, there is licensing exam prep. The pace of the program is set by the participant. We estimate that the entire program is approximately 100 hours of study time.

IA&B staff are available to assist you.
Once you enroll for the program, there are no refunds.
There are small quizzes throughout the online modules to gauge your confidence. In addition, you will need to pass the state licensing exam as well as a final test at the end of all the online modules.
