Connection Information & Technical Difficulties

If you have trouble logging in or experience any technical difficulties during the live webinar, please call our administrative partner, The Florida Insurance School (FISCE) at 800-786-4303 or 850-222-4303.
We recommend logging in early to allow time to resolve any connection and technical issues.
Before joining the webinar:
  1. The webinar is delivered through Zoom.  Connecting through a remote office network or VPN may cause audio/video issues and interfere with attendance polling.  We strongly recommend connecting outside of a VPN or remote office network whenever possible.
  2. When joining the webinar, enter your first and last name, email address, and your resident license state (if a licensed producer).  If you are unlicensed, enter “not licensed.”  No passcode is required.
  3. Audio will be delivered through your computer or mobile device speakers.  There is no dial-in audio option.
  4. Pay close attention to the education consultant’s opening remarks for important attendance and participation requirements.

Attendance Compliance

Attendance is monitored throughout the program using random polling questions (3 per hour).  You must respond to every poll to remain compliant with state CE requirements and Alliance guidelines for designation update credit.
If you miss a poll, immediately send a message through the webinar chat including:
  • Your name
  • The missed poll number
  • Reason for the missed poll
Example: John Smith, missed poll #4, internet connection issue
This information will be documented with the attendance records.  Failure to comply with attendance requirements may result in the loss of CE and/or designation update credit eligibility.

Course Materials

Notebooks are accessible 10 days prior to the program. Once available, click here to access course materials in PDF format. You can print the materials or download them to your laptop, tablet, or e-reader for reference during the webinar.  If you have difficulty downloading the materials, copy and paste the following URL into your browser:

Additional Learning Resources

Click here to view additional learning resources from the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance. These resources will not be reviewed during class but are available for your reference and additional study.

Requesting CE Credits

You must request or decline CE credits through your Alliance PROfile account no earlier than one day before the webinar.  If you try to select your credits before then, the course will not appear in your Course History.
To request or decline CE credit:
  1. Sign in at riskeducation.org.
  2. Select Course History.
  3. Locate the course title.
  4. Click on Modify CE in the right column.
  5. Complete and submit your CE selection.
The Alliance will report earned CE credits to state insurance departments within 10 days of course completion.
Attention FLORIDA, MICHIGAN, SOUTH CAROLINA, and WISCONSIN resident license holders. These states require an additional CE compliance affidavit for webinar courses.  Your state specific affidavit will be available in your Alliance PROfile account beginning on the last day of class and remain available for the following three days.
The affidavit is pre-filled with course and participant information.  You must sign and submit the affidavit within the required timeframe to receive CE credit.  If the affidavit is not submitted on time, you will need to contact the Alliance for assistance. Do not return your completed affidavit to IA&B.
To access and submit your affidavit:
  1. Sign in at riskeducation.org.
  2. Select My Courses, then Course History.
  3. Locate the course and click the Affidavit button in the Action Items column.
  4. Review the affidavit, electronically sign it, and click submit.

Exam and Proctor Details

Exam Availability

You will access the exam through the Alliance’s Learning Management System (LMS).

The exam will be available Monday, 1:01 AM ET through Thursday, 12:59 AM ET during the week following the final webinar.  You may take the exam any time during this testing window.

Once you begin the exam, you will have two hours to complete it.  All questions are essay/short answer.

Please plan accordingly.  We do not recommend taking the exam after 4:30 pm ET on Thursday, as IA&B offices will be closed and technical assistance will not be available if needed.

No exam access or extensions will be granted after the testing window closes.

Exam Proctor Requirements

CIC online exams require a disinterested third-party proctor to be present while you take the exam.
A disinterested third-party proctor is someone who:
  • Is not a family member.
  • Is not involved in your business or employment relationship.
  • Has no financial interest in your success or failure.
  • Has no personal interest in the outcome of your exam.
You may choose one of the following proctor options:
Option 1 – MonitorEDU (virtual proctoring)
MonitorEDU provides remote proctoring services.  No appointment is necessary, and proctors are available on demand.

Requirements:

  • A smartphone or tablet
  • The Google Meet app installed on the device

To use MonitorEDU:

  1. Visit https://allianceproctor.com/.
  2. Pay the applicable proctoring fee.
  3. When you are ready to take the exam, return to the website and select connect to Proctor.

Option 2 – Testing Center
You may complete your exam at an approved testing location.

To find a testing center, search online for “approved proctors near me.” Common testing locations include colleges, universities, libraries, and learning centers.

Option 3 – Employer Proctor
An individual in a dedicated Human Resources or Training Department role within your organization may serve as your proctor.

Note: For additional information and instructional videos regarding proctor requirements, visit https://www.riskeducation.org/proctor-monitor-rules/.  Do not launch the exam without a proctor present.  Doing so may result in the loss of your exam attempt.

Submitting your Proctor for Approval

If you plan to take the exam, you must submit your proctor information no later than the end of class on day 2 of the course.
Late submissions will not be accepted. If you miss the deadline, you will be required to use the MonitorEDU virtual proctoring service.
If you experience issues submitting your proctor information, contact examhelp@riskeducation.org.
After submitting your proctor information, you will receive a confirmation message stating, “Request Sent Successfully.”
All proctor submissions are automatically approved upon submission. You will only receive communication from the Alliance if your proposed proctor does not meet the disinterested third-party requirements outlined above.
The Alliance will send exam instructions, including the exam access PIN, to your proctor’s email address the Friday before the testing window opens. Be sure to confirm that your proctor has received these instructions before your scheduled exam date. If using MonitorEDU, the proctor will have access to the required PIN.

How to Submit Your Proctor Information

    1. Log in to your PROfile account at https://pro.scic.com/SignIn.
    2. Select “Course History” from the left navigation menu.
    3. Locate your course and select Proctor.
    4. Complete the required information and click Submit.
    • If using MonitorEDU, select the MonitorEDU option at the top of the page.

Accessing the Exam

You will access your exam through your Alliance PROfile account, which is the Alliance’s platform for tracking your CIC coursework and exam activity. You can access your account here, https://pro.scic.com/SignIn.
