2016 National Legislative Conference In Review

Member agents make their mark in D.C.

This year's Big "I" National Legislative Conference was attended by over 1,000 independent insurance agents from across the country and 28 member agents from Delaware and Pennsylvania. Widely considered to be the year's biggest political event for insurance agents and brokers, the NLC provides a prime time opportunity for voices to be heard and issues addressed. All attendees were briefed by staff before descending on Capitol Hill to meet with their elected officials.

On Thursday, April 14, attendees visited a total of 17 congressional offices and met with members of both the House and Senate as well as their staff. Critical issues were discussed and follow-up meetings in the districts were suggested.

We give a sincere thanks to our friends at Travelers for their generous sponsorship of our legislative dinner on April 13.

Our member agents met with federal lawmakers in Washington D.C. on April 14, 2016.

IA&B plans to keep the ball rolling and momentum building by scheduling in district visits with congressional members. Dates, times and locations of the meetings will be posted in Agent Headlines, and interested persons will be encouraged to contact us directly if they wish to attend.
