Independence Blue Cross and Tower Health reached an agreement on Friday, Oct. 6 – days after Independence insureds were told they could no longer receive in-network care at a handful of suburban Philadelphia hospitals. The three-year contract allows Independence insureds to continue receiving treatment at hospitals in Brandywine, Jennersville, Pottstown, Phoenixville and Chestnut Hill.

The hospitals were part of Community Health Systems Inc., which Tower Health acquired as of Sunday, Oct. 1.
