FBI Encourages Router Reboots

As the Internet of Things grows, so does the risk of cyber attacks. Just last month the FBI warned of malware impacting “hundreds of thousands of home and office routers and other networked devices worldwide.” In fact, the FBI recommended:

Any owner of small office and home office routers [should] reboot the devices to temporarily disrupt the malware and aid the potential identification of infected devices.

At issue is the malware’s ability to collect data, disrupt Internet access, and even disable the device.
