While Ellicott City residents and business owners once again face post-flood recovery, the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) has asked for leniency with impacted policyholders’ premium payments.

The MIA last week issued Bulletin 18-09 to ask insurers:

to provide reasonable accommodations, including a grace period for premium payment, to policyholders that reside in and the businesses located in the following zip codes: 21041; 21042; 21043, 21045, 21228 and 21229.

In the event you have customers in the area with questions about facilitating the claim process, documenting damage, or (potentially) accessing disaster assistance, please see our guidelines (originally created in the aftermath of the 2016 Ellicott City flash flooding).

For answers to questions on storm-damaged vehicles, consider sharing the MIA’s consumer advisory (again, distributed in the aftermath of the 2016 flood).
