Support AgentPAC of Maryland

Your AgentPAC dollars in action

Your contributions allow your voice to be heard on the issues that matter to you, your business and your customers. With the help of your AgentPAC dollars, we recently worked to:

  • Pass along credit card fees: Insurance producers now may charge credit card fees to customers on agency-billed business, thanks to newly passed legislation which we supported.
  • Oppose a low-cost auto product: The Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund will not be permitted to create a new, low-cost auto insurance product that carries lower financial responsibility requirements. We successfully opposed the legislative proposal on the grounds that it would disrupt the auto insurance market and tort liability system.
  • Secure a producer safeguard: The new enhanced underinsured motorist coverage will be offered to consumers on an opt-in basis only, thanks to the amendment we secured. The offering allows UIM coverage for an injured party to be added together or stacked with the available bodily injury insurance of the at-fault driver, instead of offset against it.
  • Supported Gov. Hogan: Gov. Larry Hogan has shown during his time in office that he understands the concerns of insurance agents and brokers throughout the state and how important the industry is to the state’s economic health. As a show of support, we co-hosted a June 2017 fundraiser with MAHU and NAIFA-Maryland and collectively contributed $75,000 to his 2018 re-election campaign.

What is AgentPAC?

Through a political action committee, IA&B represents and protects your interests in state government. Agent PAC allows you to participate in the political process and is the most proactive and effective tool you have to get involved.

AgentPAC contributions help fund candidates who understand our concerns and advocate on behalf of our interests. It brings the collective force of agents throughout Maryland to bear on key legislative elections that determine who controls the flow of public policy from the state capital. Your involvement with AgentPAC can make a difference in our ability to succeed within the political arena and further secure your future.
