Outstanding CSR of the Year

2018 Nominations and Entries now being accepted!

The annual Outstanding Customer Service Representative (CSR) of the Year Award—sponsored by the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research—is given to individuals who consistently provide quality service, exhibit strong leadership capabilities and have made valuable contributions to their agencies and communities. This opportunity is a meaningful way to recognize a front-line employee for the significant role she/he plays in your workplace.

Nominees first compete at the state level. State winners are then automatically entered into the national competition. Nomination and awards processes are outlined below.

Award Levels

State Winners receive:Four National Finalists will receive:National Award Recipient will receive:
  • Framed Certificate of Achievement

  • State recognition

  • $500 Cash award

  • National recognition

  • Gold and garnet pin

  • $2,000 Cash award

  • Gold and diamond pin

  • Employer receives a scholarship to a National Alliance program

  • Nominator of recipient receives a $1,000 cash award



Open to anyone regardless of affiliation or professional designation, candidates must:

  • Be an insurance customer service representative, or have primary responsibility for customer service duties.
  • Write an essay of no more than two pages double-spaced (approximately 1,000 words) on the following topic: "In today's business environment, CSRs are finding that more work is required from a smaller staff pool.  As a CSR, what four ways have you found beneficial in helping you accomplish work tasks while still providing excellent customer service?  In short, how do you do more with less?"
  • Submit letter(s) of recommendation from professional reference(s).

June: All state winners are announced.

July: Award finalists and national award winner are announced.
