Jake Willey, of Dover, Del. this week received a $1,500 Joann Scott Memorial Scholarship from the Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers Inc.
“We were impressed by Jake’s academic record, as well as his leadership skills and commitment to community,” said Rick Russell, president and CEO of the statewide insurance agents’ association. “He embodies the ideals of this award.”
Willey is an incoming freshman at the University of Delaware, where he will study civil engineering. He graduated from Dover High School this spring.
Joann Scott was employed by Kinnamon Taylor and Dawes in Wilmington, Del. She was active in the association and dedicated to furthering the education of independent insurance agents, which is why scholarships are given in her name each year.
